The North East Community Alcohol Support Service aims to support individuals in the community who experience alcohol problems and have associated tenancy issues.
Support is provided in the following three areas:
- Preventing people becoming homeless by providing support, advice, information and counselling on alcohol related issues and retaining / maintaining tenancies and independent living.
- Supporting people who are about to become homeless or are already homeless or are already seeking to access supported accommodation within the community of the North East of Glasgow.
- Providing a resettlement service for people leaving homelessness, continuing through care support, advice, information and counselling on alcohol related issues and support on moving towards independent living.
The service will offer:
- Advice, information and support around the use of alcohol and aims to support service users in reducing alcohol consumption towards safer drinking levels or cessation of alcohol use.
- Advice and support on anxiety management.
- Advice and support on relapse prevention.
- Advice and support on keeping and sustaining tenancies.
- Assistance on completing benefit forms.
- Assistance in dealing with neighbour disputes.
- Assistance with budgeting and debit issues.
- Organising access to professional help.
- Access to counselling service.
